Self-talk

November 25, 2018 by Don Kuhl

Aging Monday

At times my mind races on about stuff that just doesn’t matter, as if a floodgate of concern has opened up, like this morning when I couldn’t get my Southwest tickets to print out 24 hours in advance of my flight to Tampa and what if I get stuck in C group and all that is left is a middle seat way in back right across from the only bathroom that is in operation and won’t that make a flight that’s already six hours feel like 20 hours and I can just imagine who is sitting on either side of me and they will try to occupy my leg room and the young man to my right will take up my entire armrest.

My inner voice, packed with 73 years of experience, finally comes to my rescue and says, “CALM DOWN!  You get to be above the fluffy clouds on a wondrous adventure.”
