C-minus

November 10, 2020 by Don Kuhl

I apologize. I haven’t kept up with my personal correspondence to many of you. And I love hearing from you. In fact, your little notes of appreciation are a big part of what keeps me ticking. Many of your clever stories put my original blog posts to shame.

I hate excuses. But here’s the deal. For some time, I’ve been stuck with a serious case of carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands. My surgeon, and others, advised me to have a simple operation done before I lose my small motor skills in my fingers. The right hand came first – last Tuesday. Once it heals, I’ll get my left one done.

This episode makes me think of my typing class in my sophomore year of high school. While the smart kids were put in calculus, advanced chemistry and such, a select group of students was assigned to typing and something called “social studies.”

I passed my typing class with a C-minus by having my fingers dance across the keys at a pace of 38 words per minute – with only seven errors!

You can imagine my grade today. While writing this blog post, I originally typed more errors than words. Oh my!

Don’t worry. I’ll catch up with you soon.
