Coach’s advice

November 9, 2021 by Don Kuhl

This may be my shortest blog post ever. I know some of you are whispering, “Thank goodness.”

Transitioning toward retirement is getting to me. I’m busy thinking of all the things I can do and can’t do. How will this turn out? I hope I don’t get lazy. Will people answer my phone calls when I don’t have a title to hide behind? Will my dogs wish I’d give them a nap and go to work? Do I actually have time for lunch? How do I know when I’m on vacation?

Thank goodness I had a great coach back in high school.

When our team got all worried about the rest of the season, Coach Majors simply said, “Be where your feet are.”

It’s good advice for all of us.
