How I handle bad days

July 22, 2024 by Don Kuhl

Perhaps a few of you are lucky enough to have no bad days. That’s not me.

Often, I know where they originate: a sleepless night, severe back pain, losing my car keys and wallet at the same time, feeling guilty because I goofed up again, not getting what I want. I could go on and on.

Over the years, I have found ways to reduce or eliminate these days. Here are a few things that work for me:

I talk to a friend and ask for support.

I read one of my favorite books out loud.

I go for a slow walk with my dogs.

I focus on three things for which I’m most grateful.

I take a nap before getting a chocolate ice cream cone.

Often, I can reduce a bad day to a bad hour or two.

I’m interested. How do you handle bad days?
