At a recent Connections gathering, participants were asked to come up with one word that best described their whole life.
This particular group was made up of bright men and women above age 65.
Here we go:
Jody… Faith
Jarred… Perseverance
Pam… Fortitude
Tellis… Joy
Mark… Relationships
Jada… Acceptance
These are just a few of nearly 20 responses. Participants were encouraged to expand on their choices. What stories! Oh my goodness!
Here is what I learned:
Wisdom comes with age.
Life is full of goodness. Find it.
Success is achieved through courage.
We alone are in command of our destiny.
Love opens up any closed door.
Since I cheat on special occasions, I allowed myself an additional word to add greater context. Without a doubt, mine is “snowballing relationships,” meaning ongoing, transformative friendships.
Hey, just for the fun of it. What’s your one word?

“What’s it all about, Donnie?”
