Last week, an evil power started to invade my personal space. At first, it was hard to identify, cloaking itself in buttered popcorn and a never-ending series of Seinfeld episodes.
Then, this morning, it came at me full force: I actually was FEELING SORRY FOR MYSELF. “Poor Don” pulsed through my veins.
The originator of this evil power comes from pain generated by my lower back surgeries. This pain has chosen to set up residence in my left leg. Temporarily, I’ve lost my ability to walk. My meditation skills have gone on vacation. Sleep evades me. I call friends for support and their mailboxes are all full. Yeah, right!
Thank goodness my feelings of self-pity were short lived. All of us who have been around the block a time or two know it’s a total waste of emotional energy. It gets us downhill very quickly.
My remedy: Immediately come up with the top three things that make my life so special.
The Change Companies.
I’m a lucky guy.
