A few weeks ago, I asked readers to share what drives them nuts due to aging. My friends and I gave a number of our own, and boy did I get a great bunch from you guys.
My two favorites from the original list:
Toilets made for very short or acrobatic people.
Purchasing a product that can’t be opened without major industrial tools.
Here’s one of my favorite new ones from John:
My inability to simply “LET GO” when my big toe catches the crotch of my skivvies as I’m pulling them on, followed by the one-legged hop and inevitable fall — hopefully back on my bed, but occasionally clear down to the floor. I’d go commando except I do the same thing with my pants. Maybe I should consider a kilt…
A young Jenny shared a list from her elderly mother:
“Being told I’ve already had a hamburger. If I don’t remember it, I’m pretty sure I’m entitled to another one.”
“Being assigned a caregiver when I don’t need one. Call her the cook. Call him the dog walker. Just don’t call them my caregivers.”
“Having people talk about what’s best for me when I’m sitting right there.”
And what drives Roberto nuts:
“Getting to the front of the long pharmacy line and then needing to yell out my date of birth and being told my prescription won’t be ready until tomorrow.”
I have over 200 entries now, so it’s time I call the publishers. Your check is in the mail… almost.

Don’t tell me to shut up!
