The tale of two bloggers

February 4, 2020 by Don Kuhl

For those of you who enjoy my Aging blog, I recommend The 80-Something Blog written by Judy Kugel.

Judy is a few years older than me in experience, and I learn from her wisdom each week.

And we are polar opposites. Judy strikes me as a woman who has done everything right. Not so much me.

Judy graduated from the University of Michigan. I flunked out of the University of Illinois.

Judy served as associate dean of students at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. I was dean of men at two colleges that went defunct.

Judy thrives on the East Coast. I’m a western mountain man.

Judy is invited to highbrow lectures and cultural events. I make daily hikes with my four Shepherds.

Political leanings? Let’s not go there.

But we have a bunch in common: We love our spouses of many years. We appreciate close friends. Both of our aging bodies ache, but we don’t want to dwell on it.

I’ve fallen in love with Judy’s blog. I think you would, too.
