Widowmaker (Part 3/3)

September 27, 2018 by Don Kuhl

Looking back, it is apparent I almost lost my ability to age. However, I was given two great gifts. The first is obvious, I’ve been blessed with nearly five additional years on earth to play and work and love and, hopefully, more years to come.

The second gift is why I feel this life story is worth sharing. When I came close, or actually traveled, to my next destination, I did not fear, nor did I experience shame for past indiscretions. I had a feeling of peace and anticipation as I approached my portal.

For those who know me well, you are aware I made plenty of poor choices and I inflicted harm and unnecessary pain on others. Yet, I attempted to atone for these behaviors by doing good stuff, although I continue to mess up from time to time.

So if a guy like me can feel so darn content when close to death, all of you are going to have it made when your time comes near. Enjoy each day of aging, and spread the love.
