Losing things

November 15, 2018 by Don Kuhl

Aging Friday

A cardinal rule as one ages is to keep your essential items in one spot: in a drawer, on the corner of a dresser or in the bowl on the coffee table. There, at immediate command, are your car keys, cell phone, wallet or purse. This is like kindergarten for older folks.

The truth is, I am an abysmal failure at this ironclad rule. I lose my stuff all the time in many weird places.  Often, I can’t remember why I put them there. Why are my car keys with the bing cherries in the refrigerator? Why is my wallet under the green chair I never sit in?
