Trust me on this

April 30, 2020 by Don Kuhl

Darnell was one of the smartest guys in my high school. We were never in the same classroom because he was on the honors track. I was elsewhere.

Last week, we caught up with each other on Zoom. I hate the technology. I always think I should come across better looking than I do. Darnell looked like he should be on the cover of GQ.

But that’s not the point.

We got talking about heavy stuff. I asked him if it was difficult for him to decide on his living will.

Darnell said he didn’t know what I was talking about. Now, this is the good-looking honors student. I became the teacher. Go figure.

Men and women, particularly in my age group, need to be thorough and clear about what happens when something happens to them.

It’s the same as cleaning up your closet. Don’t leave a mess for your kids to figure out.
