Nigel J. Wiggins is getting up there in years. We got him as a puppy 13 years ago. He quickly became the alpha and led several groups of younger shepherds in his tenure.
But now:
Nigel is in his 80s (human age).
So am I.
Nigel walks with a limp due to spinal stenosis.
So do I.
Nigel has passed on most of his leadership roles to others.
So have I.
Nigel doesn’t run to the gate anymore to greet guests.
Nor do I.

Nigel’s body and face show some hits due to aging.
So do mine.
Nigel often takes two naps during the day.
So do I.
Nigel needs a lot more hugs than when he was younger.
So do I.
Nigel is happy, fully accepting his spot in the circle of life.
I’m working on it.
