Smile

April 7, 2020 by Don Kuhl

Some of the best medicine is so easy to administer.

I needed to pick up some medicine at my local pharmacy. There were three older adults in the pick-up line, all doing a good job practicing social distancing. However, their heads were down, with grim looks on their faces. Who can blame them? These are challenging and scary times, particularly if you have hit the 70-year age marker.

As the three headed toward the door, I noticed they had changed their demeanor. Smiles were on their faces, and their heads were held high.

It was my turn. I looked up and saw a young male pharmacist who was grinning from ear to ear. His face was full of joy as he handed me my medicine.

I’m uncertain if these little pink pills really help me control my blood pressure.

I am certain that young man’s smile is the best medicine I will ingest all day.
